ABC ON THE RISE

The American Broadcasting Company, better known as ABC has made its mark in television by the bold decisions it make. Decisions such as when they decided to move Grey's Anatomy from Sunday nights to Thursday nights, and came out victorious, as Grey's Anatomy has continued to pull high ratings and is currently the show to beat at 8pm on Thursday nights. Since DISNEY purchased ABC for $19 billion dollars in 1995, it has done nothing but continue to rise in the television industry.

ABC is responsible for hit shows such as Taxi, Mork and Mindy, and Happy Days, but more modernly it is responsible for hit shows such as Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Brother's and Sister's, Men in Trees, Dancing with the Stars, Ugly Betty, and many more. Over the years ABC has hit high revenues of $29 million in 1975 up to as much as $165 million in 1977.
ABC continues to flourish because the network takes risks. Yes there is a possibility that a program may not succeed in ratings as they may like, but with the reinvention and and determination that the network has displayed, it is expected that they will continue to flourish and be profitable in many years to come.
